Road 68 Corridor Improvements

Road 68 corridorProject Background
The City of Pasco is in the process of implementing access management and signal improvements on Road 68 to improve traffic flow and safety as recommended in the Road 68 Corridor Study as adopted by the City Council in September of 2012.

2014 improvements included raised medians treatments on Road 68 between Burden Boulevard and Sandifur Parkway, median and turn lane modifications at the Burden/Clemente intersection to prevent left turns, and other median modifications on Burden Boulevard that constructed left turn lanes where there were currently landscaped medians. Traffic signal improvements included signal modifications and wireless signal connections at intersections along Road 68. The funding for this project came from a grant from the federal government.

Latest Updates
The median project was completed in 2014, and accidents in the corridor have dropped.  The next set of improvements include additional left turn lanes from Burden to southbound Road 68 and additional turn lanes from Road 68 to westbound I-182.
