The City Council appointed the seven member ad-hoc commission to assist the Council in its efforts to promote inclusivity in Pasco. The Commission is charged to “conduct activities… identify means… and make such recommendations to the City Council for action, education and guidance to foster an environment that includes, accepts, respects, and appreciates all members of our community.”

The City Council holds workshops the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month, where the Council discusses issues, but no formal action is taken.

The City of Pasco is currently designing an overpass across
the BNSF Railway railroad tracks to replace the 1937 Lewis Street
undercrossing. The bridge will connect Lewis Street from 2nd Avenue
to Oregon Avenue (SR-397) and will include one travel lane in each
direction, and a bike lane and sidewalk on both sides. Additionally,
roadway improvements will be made on the blocks between Tacoma
and 2nd Avenues and Clark and Lewis Streets on the west side of
the railroad tracks. This project will enhance safety, connectivity and
economic possibility in the area. To learn more, ask questions,
and share input, please join the project team on Tuesday, Oct. 9,
between 4 and 7 p.m. No formal presentation will be made.

The Civil Service Commission is a citizen board mandated and governed by Washington State statutes.
This commission works to ensure that hiring, promotions, and appointments to the ranks of the Police Department and Fire Department are made in a fair and unbiased process. The Civil Service Commission may also review disciplinary actions should an employee appeal such actions to the board. Members serve 6-year terms.

The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council on the city's Comprehensive Plan, the Subdivision Ordinance, and Zoning Ordinance of the Municipal Code. Along with workshops on other land use-related issues, the commission holds public hearings for planned-unit developments, preliminary plats, re-zones, and special permits.
