Neighborhood Watch is a community based program that works in partnership with the Pasco Police Department. It is an effective and least costly way to prevent crime and to reduce the fear of crime. (Watch the video below for more information.)
A Neighborhood Watch group starts with a motivated individual, a few concerned residents, and law enforcement. An initial meeting is organized to discuss everyone’s needs. Based on these needs, training on topics such as home security, ID Theft, and reporting skills are provided to the group once a month. Citizens learn to interact with their neighbors to know who belongs in their neighborhood and who doesn’t. With citizens taking a proactive part in the security of their neighborhood they play a large part in reducing crime.
For information on how to establish a Neighborhood Watch Program, you may contact the Pasco Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit at 545-3414, between 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.
