TRIDEC is hosting, in partnership with the Cities of Pasco and Richland, two informational meetings to discuss the proposed Columbia River Shoreline Reconveyance.
TRIDEC partnered with the City of Kennewick to host the first Community Meeting on Thursday, August 2.
As background, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers currently owns most of the Columbia River shoreline throughout the Tri-Cities, including the parks (which are operated by the cities under long-term leases), levees, and other infrastructure. The proposed reconveyance would transfer ownership of the land back to the cities through federal legislation.
The intention of these meetings is to provide attendees with an overview of what is being considered, and to seek out public comment.
We hope that you will join us to learn more about the proposal, and to show your support!
